Mr. Mark Adams is a Principal and Senior Project Biologist/Manager with Envirowest. He is an acknowledged leading authority on impact mitigation and compensation planning and design, having been retained by regulatory agencies to author environmental design manuals and reports, including Shoreline Structures Environmental Design: A Guide for Structures along Estuaries and Large Rivers.

The environmental design concepts presented by this publication assist proponents of development mitigate the negative impacts that shoreline projects can have on fish and wildlife habitats. This guide also communicates to proponents that shoreline environments are composed by many interdependent biological and physical components and that impacts to any one component can have a decided effect on others.
